MT BAYBEYIM SUMMIT CLIMB 1 DAY

OVERVIEW

Baybeyim Mountain, located in the Khizi region of Azerbaijan, offers a challenging yet rewarding climb for experienced hikers and mountaineers. With its peak reaching 935 m above the sea level, it provides stunning panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes of the mounts at 4000m in the north and the Caspina Sea shore line in the east. The climb itself involves terrain mix of arrid steppe, rocky ridge and a dramatic valley flanked by rolling shale mountains whose astonishing red, orange, pink and chalk-coloured swirls dubbed as candy cane mountain of Azerbaijan.

ITINERARY

8:00-9:00am – Pick-up from hotel and drive to the trailhead.

9:00-12:00pm – Summit Ascending – Start at the trailhead for a review of the plan for the day and a push for the summit, stopping only to refuel, rehydrate and adjust layers on our way.

12:00-14:00pm – Summit Descending – For the last part we will go downhill to reach candy cane mountains.

14:00-15:00pm – Drive back to Baku

KNOW BEFORE YOU GO

Moderate Fitness – Able to spend 6 continuous hours outside, moving uphill at over 200m per hour for durations of 1-hour between breaks. Participants should be able to hike 11 km, climbing 900 m uphill throughout the course of the day
