Day 1
Discover the city by walking tours. In these walking tours, we cover Baku’s historic core and architectural landmarks. We get acquainted with social, cultural, and political aspects of every-day life in Baku on the background of stories based on the real-life of oil barons in the late 19th and early 20th century as well as soviet and modern times. The morning walk covers the Old Town (Icharishahar – UNESCO World Cultural Site), whereas the afternoon walk covers downtown Baku (Nizami Street).
Day 2
Explore the immediate areas of Baku. We go outskirts of Baku to see rock art drawings about the life of people from prehistoric times in Gobustan and to discover anomalic volcanic activities in mud volcanoes and the Historic Mosque. Afterward visit Baku’s Suburbs in the Absheron peninsula to explore historic watch towers, Ateshgah temple, hindu and Zoroastrian pilgrimage site in medieval times and Yanardag, the Fire Mountain.
Day 3
Explore the highest mountain villages of Azerbaijan. Early morning drive to the north of Azerbaijan, in Guba sightseeing in Jewish Town/Red Town and bird-eye view of Jewish Town, and mosques of Shiite (Sakina Khanum Mosque, XIX cent) and Sunni (Juma mosque, XIX cent) communities of the town. Then drive to Khinalug (stop at several spots on the way to Khinalug in 2350m altitude). Dinner in Khinalug with a local family. Explore the village and later drive back to Baku.
