Gobustan and Mud Volcano Tour

Explore UNESCO World Heritage site at Gobustan prehistoric Rock-Art, and Gobustan Mud Volcano and its moon-like surface, and Bibi Heybat Mosque.

OVERVIEW

In this private half-day tour from Baku, we explore the outskirts of Baku by visiting Gobustan Rock Art Cultural Landscape Reserve to see the museum of prehistoric rock carvings and the Boyukdash Mountain with an areal view of the Caspian Sea. We also get a chance to see one of the most strange geological anomalies on the face of the Earth, Mud Volcanos. Toward the end of the tour, we visit one of the most historic mosques of Baku, the Bibi Heybat Mosque.

WHAT TO EXPECT

We pick you up from a hotel and drive to Gobustan along the southern highway across service facilities of the oil and gas industry. Then, you have a guided tour of the Gobustan Museum and Boyukdash Mountain. Next up, we drive 15 minutes to visit the site of the mud volcanos. You’ll spend about half an hour sightseeing and photo-shooting Baku’s mud volcanoes. Then, we drive back to the city and stop by Bibi Heybat Mosque (Women to wear headscarf). Drop off at the hotel.

Attractions covered are the Gobustan Museum and Boyukdash Mountain, the mud volcano site, and Bibi Heybat Mosque.
